It is not uncommon for him to feel bitter rejection from locals with his colleagues at the Dadali Waste Bank Group. However, many residents started to learn how to sort waste and became clients of Dadali Kali Baru Waste Bank, Medan Satria, Bekasi Town.

“The aim of this education is to reduce the volume of waste dumped in Kali Baru Bekasi by the inhabitants. We are also reducing as much as possible the amount of waste that goes to TPA Sumur Batu, ”Dadali Waste Bank group leader Mistara Sastrawijaya told Media Indonesia on Tuesday 10/11.

The mechanism, he said, is that the public will benefit from proper and correct sorting of non-organic and organic waste. The public is allowed to weigh at the waste bank location daily.

Weighed organic waste will be valued at IDR 200 / kilogram (kg). Meanwhile, non-organic waste will be priced at IDR 1,000 / kg.

“We sell non-organic waste to factories. The proceeds from the sale are used for the operations of the waste bank, then the organic waste is collected and transformed into food nest egg, ”he said.

The results of the nest egg culture, Mistara said, are sold to fish farmers or fishing grounds. In a day, the fresh magots (fresh packs) can flow 1 to 2 quintals (kw). As for the dried nest egg, generally 300 packs are sold per day. Magot is the most popular fish feed today.

“From the sale of this nest egg, you can pay housewives who are ready to sort branded household waste,” he said.

While it wasn’t easy to invite people to sort their waste in the beginning, now people, especially housewives, are very enthusiastic. Now they are starting to know the benefits and advantages of sorting waste.
