Lumat Kazakhstan and France confirm their place for the 2022 World Cup

FRANCE qualified for the 2022 World Cup after beating Kazakhstan 8-0 in the European Zone World Cup qualifying group D game at Parc des Princes in Paris on Sunday (14/110 WIB hours).

The victory locked France’s position as Group D winner with 15 points which also became an automatic ticket to the 2022 World Cup.

Kylian Mbappe scored four goals, followed by two goals by Karim Benzema and one each by Adrien Rabiot and Antoine Griezmann.

Mbappe opened France’s lead in the sixth minute which he immediately doubled, six minutes later.

The Paris Saint-Germain star then made a 32nd-minute hat-trick with a powerful header that met Kingsley Coman’s measured cross.

The 3-0 score for France lasted until half-time and Benzema added France’s goal in the 55th minute after taking advantage of a nice pass from Theo Hernandez.

Four minutes later, Benzema scored his second to give France a 5-0 lead with a single stroke to finish Mbappe’s cross.

The French goal festivities did not end as in the 75th minute Rabiot was free to come home to Griezmann’s corner to add hosts in advance.

Griezmann also put his name on the scoreboard in the 85th minute as he converted a penalty to beat goalkeeper Stas Pokatilov.

France’s victory was completed 8-0 by Mbappe who scored his fourth goal two minutes later, taking advantage of Kazakhstan’s risky defensive strategy.

France still have one game to play in Group D when they travel to Finland on Tuesday (11/16). (Ant / OL-1)
