The 2021 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) event has become Lexus’ medium to present an update to its best-selling sedan, the Lexus ES. The new Lexus ES carries the Instinctively Refined theme that is reflected in design changes and technological innovations on the exterior and interior.

Lexus Indonesia General Manager Bansar Maduma explained: The new Lexus ES, a car designed to meet the business needs and business activities of customers, features modern design and typical Lexus comfort.

“The new Lexus ES is equipped with the Lexus 4th Generation Hybrid System, a self-charging hybrid technology that can cover longer distances while remaining efficient. Bansar said in a virtual discussion on Friday (12/11).

Being the heart of the new Lexus ES, Lexus Hybrid Drive is the pioneering technology of Lexus’ vision of electrification, namely Lexus Electrified which first appeared in 2004 with the launch of the Lexus RX 400h, the first car hybrid in the luxury market. Over time, the Lexus Hybrid Drive continues to undergo updates that result in a smaller battery, with lighter weight, while retaining the efficiency, performance and quietness of a typical Lexus hybrid.

The new Lexus ES features a fourth generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system, with a smaller battery capacity, but more optimal performance. The battery position is at the bottom of the rear seat to maximize luggage and cabin space and also for a more balanced weight distribution which can of course support the driving experience and comfort of the new Lexus ES.

From the outside, the new Lexus ES looks more dashing with the typical Lexus 3-LED headlights. The presence of the new headlights is not only aesthetic but also adds safety features such as the Adaptive High Beam System (AHS) and Adaptive Front Headlight System (AFS), which are active safety features of the Lexus + security system.

In addition, the vertical tapered grille that adorns the face of the new Lexus ES has been redesigned with a small “L” shape that appears to radiate from the Lexus logo in the center.

The new Lexus ES uses 18-inch alloy wheels with a resonance chamber to reduce vibrations from the road surface and uses a ducktail spoiler which adds to the aerodynamic performance.

Entering the interior of the new Lexus ES, the 12.3-inch center display has been perfected and now features touchscreen capabilities to make the driving experience of the new Lexus ES even more intuitive for the driver. driver.

In addition, the entertainment system has been equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features so that using the smartphone while driving is safer and easier.

Passenger comfort has always been one of the strengths of the Lexus ES. With the largest cabin space in its class, a rear seat control panel, side and rear sun visors and a premium 17-speaker Mark Levinson audio system.

However, the new Lexus ES benefits from an additional comfort feature in the form of the Nanoe X air purification system which can eradicate bacteria, viruses and eliminate unpleasant odors in the passenger compartment.

The new Lexus ES also receives an update with the Lexus Safety System +, an active safety suite with various features such as Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Keeping Assist (LTA), Assist lane keeping (LKA) and dynamic radar cruise control.
