Honda RS Concept SUV Makes Global Debut in Indonesia

For the first time in the world, Honda presented the Honda SUV RS Concept at the 2021 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) which will be held from November 11 to 21 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, Tangerang. The Honda SUV RS Concept is designed as a compact SUV with a sportier character, pleasant driving performance and technological sophistication.

The Honda SUV RS concept also marks the first time that Honda in Indonesia presents the RS variant on an SUV model to mark its sportier character. Currently, several Honda models in Indonesia that have RS variants are Brio, Mobilio, City Hatchback and All New Honda Civic.

PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) Managing Chairman Takehiro Watanabe said that currently, the SUV segment is growing in Indonesia and consumers like the character of a sportier car to suit various activities and road conditions.

“Honda SUV RS Concept is here as our vision of how a sport utility vehicle becomes sportier by implementing the RS character which has been very well received by consumers in Indonesia. We are very proud to make Indonesia the first in the world to introduce the Honda SUV RS Concept, ”added Watanabe san, Thursday (11/11).

The concept car was developed in collaboration between Honda R&D Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. and the Honda team in Indonesia displays a sporty exterior design that matches Honda’s DNA in a compact SUV platform. From the outside, the Honda SUV RS Concept appears with a slender body, clean, solid lines, and a grille that blends into the body which further reinforces its sporty character.

The Honda SUV RS concept is one of the main displays appearing on the Honda booth at this year’s GIIAS event. Under the theme “Amplifying Joy”, the Honda booth showcased its latest products, technologies and activities. The theme illustrates Honda’s commitment to continue to bring pleasure to Indonesian consumers through a variety of advanced products and technologies.

In addition to the Honda SUV RS Concept, the Honda booth also featured 24 cars with an area of ​​2394 m2, including the latest All New Honda BR-V model which was launched practically last September. For the first time, consumers can see the different variations of the all-new Honda BR-V firsthand at the auto show this time around.

Another Honda car that was also launched this year, the City Hatchback RS, will also make its first appearance at the GIIAS event. Not only with the standard model, the City Hatchback RS with special paintwork in collaboration with designer Never Too Lavish is also on display in the “Sporty Zone” with Honda Racing Simulator and BVDC games so that racing fans can enjoy the look. Honda cars. with racing nuances and various Honda motorsport activities. . In addition, the Honda booth will also feature a “Sensing Zone” where visitors can experience and experience Honda’s iconic safety technology.

Honda Brio also has a special area called “Brio World” which displays not only the standard model but also the Honda Brio Touring Car owned by Canya Prasetyo, an Indonesian Honda Racing racer. In addition, Honda also presented the Brio Millenials Project # 2 which should inspire visitors who want to modify the Brio with a sportier appearance but can still be used every day. The Brio Millenials Project # 2 underwent modifications to the suspension, rims, tires and was wrapped in blue-dominated decals with a touch of yellow accents.
