After its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival, the film Copying Light, starring Shenina Cinnamon, will be released on the Netflix streaming platform on January 13, 2022.
At first, many believed that the film would be screened in theaters like several other films released this year such as Yuni (Kamila Andini), Paranoia (Riri Riza) and Comme Dendam, Rindu must be paid in full (Edwin).
The story of Copying Light follows a young woman named Sur (Shenina Cinnamon) whose life changes after a photo of her drunkenness goes viral and causes her to lose her purse.
With the help of Amin (Chicco Kurniawan), his childhood friend who works as a photocopier on campus, Sur is determined to uncover the truth by hacking the cell phones of his college friends.
Copying Cahaya is director Wregas Bhanuteja’s debut feature which won multiple awards. This film topped the 2021 Indonesian Film Festival with 17 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor and Best Actress.
