Mainz and Gladbah must be satisfied with the split points

Hosts Mainz and Borussia Mönchengladbach share a point after ending a fierce Bundesliga game with a 1-1 score on Saturday (6/11) early in the morning WIB.

Florian Neuhaus gave Gladbach the lead in the 38th minute, which was equalized 14 minutes before the end of the game by the hosts.

Just seconds after team-mate Ramy Bensebaini nearly scored for Borussia Mönchengladbach after assisting Marcus Thuram, Neuhaus opened the scoring with his left-footed shot into the Mainz goal.

It took Mainz more than half an hour to equalize after Silvan Widmer saved the hosts from defeat with his 75th-minute goal.

Widmer gives a left kick to put the ball in the upper left corner of the visitors’ goal.

Even more depressed, Mainz became the team that most often threatened the opposing goal by sending 19 goal attempts, including eight on target.

On the other hand, Gladbach, who is relatively offensive on initiative, was only able to drop 5 attempts on target out of a total of 12 attempts he was able to make.

The result meant that Mainz did not overtake Bayer Leverkusen, who became the last team in the top four of the Bundesliga table.

With a total of 17 points, Mainz is fifth but risks being overtaken by Union Berlin and Wolfsburg if both teams win their match.

Borussia Mönchengladbach themselves have temporarily overtaken Hoffinheim in ninth position which can be overtaken by Hoffinheim and Cologne who will play tonight and tomorrow. (Ant / OL-1)
