The Ministry of Transport plans to revitalize the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (HLP) in Jakarta, in order to increase flight safety factors.
This is done since the Halim airport has a vital function, but there has been a decline in the quality of the elements of the airport, especially the runway.
Intensive discussions are being carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Defense, Indonesian Air Force, Ministry of Finance, State Secretariat, Ministry of PUPR, Angkasa Pura II and other relevant stakeholders .
“We are preparing the airside design, such as the reconstruction of the runway and the repair of the drainage system. We are discussing things with various parties,” Civil Aviation Director General Novie Riyanto told Transport Ministry on Wednesday. 3/11, in Jakarta.
Novie added that during the discussion, various things need to be prepared regarding the impact of this revitalization process which takes about a year. This is to ensure safety, and the best service can be achieved.
The operationalization plan and others will be submitted after discussion with the Ministries and Institutions concerned (D-1)
