NEWCASTLE United are said to be in talks with former Bournemouth coach Eddie Howe over the possibility of handling the Magpies.
Newcastle new owners previously believed they could bring in Villarreal coach Unai Emery to replace Steve Bruce earlier this week.
However, the former Arsenal coach refused to take charge of the Magpies and the Premier League club turned their attention to Howe.

Amanda Staveley, who heads the search for a coach at Newcastle, said she was happy with the initial talks with Howe.
Howe, who has been out of work since leaving Bournemouth last year, has managed to lead the club from Division IV to five in the Premier League.
The 43-year-old coach left Bournemouth after the club were relegated from the Premier League in August 2020.
Currently, Newcastle United have failed to win in 10 Premier League appearances and are ranked second from the bottom of the table. (AFP / OL-1)
