Jabodetabek rains for the next 3 days, beware of landslide prone areas

The Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) predicts that moderate rains will continue to drive the Greater Jakarta region over the next three days.

“Jabodetabek for the next 3 days, we estimate the potential for light to moderate rain, especially in the afternoon and evening,” BMKG sub-coordinator of weather broadcasting, Muhammad Fadli, said during a interview Friday (5/11).

Fadli estimates that the potential for light to moderate rain will be evenly distributed in the Jakarta region with rainfall ranging from 10 to 20 millimeters per day. Similar conditions will also occur in supporting cities in the capital, particularly Bogor, which has the potential to rain with moderate intensity.

“We estimate that for the Bogor area it can reach 30 or 50 mm,” he added.

BMKG called on residents living in areas prone to flooding and landslides to always be careful.

In addition, BMKG is also warning fishermen on the Jakarta coast to be aware of high waves when going out to sea.

“So far, for small vessels, we urge you to be vigilant, as the waves are quite large for fishermen,” Fadli concluded. (MGN / A-2)
