Persib leads the standings with victory over Persela

PERSIB lead the 2021-2022 Indonesian La Liga 1 standings after beating Persela 3-1 at Maguwoharjo Stadium in Yogyakarta on Thursday (4/11). Persib has 25 points and has been undefeated for 11 matches. Previously, the top of the table was held by Bhayangkara FC, which has now moved to second position.

While Persela occupies tenth place in the standings with a cumulative 12 points. Against Persela, Persib is in fact often under pressure from the opponent.

However, it was the “Maung Bandung” team that actually opened the scoring first thanks to Geoffrey Castillion’s kick in the sixth minute. Castillion took advantage of a deep pass from Mohammed Rashid. Midfielder Erwin Ramdani doubled Persib’s advantage in the 20th minute. Erwin managed to kick the ball which rolled wildly into the penalty area after Marc Klok’s free kick.

Only a minute later, Persela played down the position via Malik Risaldi who cheated the ball around point 12 when Abiyoso’s horizontal cross into the forbidden area. A score of 1-2 stung Persib and then managed to score an extra goal in the 32nd minute.

Palestinian midfielder Mohammed Rashid put his name on the scoreboard to end his skillful game that evening. Persib’s 3-1 advantage lasted until half-time. After the break, both teams attempted to break through each other’s goal. However, until the end of the match, the position did not change and Persib was entitled to three more points. (OL-8)
