Ronaldo scores two goals, MU steals points from Atalanta

MANCHESTER United (MU) managed to steal a point after a 2-2 draw with Atalanta in the Champions League Group F game at Stadio Gewiss on Wednesday (3 / 110h WIB).

Ronaldo became United’s savior after scoring two goals in that game, while Atalanta’s two goals were scored by Josep Ilicic and Duvan Zapata.

The result still puts the Red Devils at the top of the Group F standings with 7 points, the same as Villarreal’s below.

Meanwhile, Atalanta is in third place with 5 points ahead of Young Boys who have just obtained three points.

MU immediately spread threats as the match didn’t last even half a minute. Cristiano Ronaldo got the space to shoot, then looped a shot although goalkeeper Juan Musso always anticipated it.

In the 5th minute MU came close to scoring after Scott McTominay’s shot from the edge of the penalty area hit the post again.

Atalata took advantage of MU’s neglect by stealing a goal in the 12th minute. Duvan Zapata crosses from the left into the box, Ilicic in an unmarked position met the ball with a left-footed effort that beat David de Gea. Score 1-0 at the home team.

MU almost immediately scored a reply in the 16th minute. Ronaldo’s shot after receiving a through ball could have been anticipated by Musso before he was hit by Luke Shaw’s first kick, but the ball bounced slightly nonetheless.

In the 31st minute, MU almost conceded again. Pogba lost the ball near the penalty area, then it was snatched by Zapata before unleashing a powerful effort that was blocked by defender Eric Bailly.

The Red Devils finally scored the equalizer towards the end of the first half.

Ronaldo teamed up with Greenwood, who was then followed by Bruno Fernandes with a short pass inside the box so Ronaldo could kick the ball into the top corner of Atalanta’s goal. The first half ended with a score of 1-1.

MU played a dominant role early in the second half and created several golden chances. However, he still has not produced a goal to change the position.

Too focused on the attack, MU conceded in the 56th minute thanks to a goal from Duvan Zapata.

Jose Luis Palomino shot a long pass to Zapata up front, who only had to face De Gea. He then beat the Spaniard with a left-footed shot to give Atalanta the advantage 2-1.

MU responded to the goal with a barrage of attacks. However, the home team is still difficult to penetrate by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Finally, MU managed to equalize in added time. Greenwood sent a pass from the edge of the box to Ronaldo to finish with a volley that Musso couldn’t reach.
