Former Manchester United player Garry Neville said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s fate as Manchester United manager was not completely secure despite having just sealed a 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last weekend. The match against Atalanta in the Champions League, Wednesday (3/11) in the early morning of WIB, is still the record of management to determine the fate of the Norwegian coach.
“It was a pivotal week for Solskjaer and he started the way he wanted,” Neville said.
Neville said United were under pressure ahead of the Tottenham game. But the pressure eased a bit after the Red Devils were able to win.
He considered that the evaluation of their success could not be separated from the struggle of all the players to help Solskjaer against the threat of dismissal.
Meanwhile, the game against Atalanta was also proof for Cristiano Ronaldo who was seen as inconsistent upon his return to the Red Devils.

Many questions were raised about the presence of the Portuguese superstar who became the hub of the MU attack which was seen as helping or hindering the team.
Ronaldo will enter the game in high spirits after playing in the Red Devils’ 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur with one goal and one assist each.
Despite his goals, Ronaldo has been criticized for lacking defensive work in a team that has kept just two clean sheets all season.
Several of his teammates at his former club Juventus felt the same. But the former Real Madrid player has said he will silence his critics.
“I know when the team needs my help defending. But my role at the club is to win, to help the team to win and to score goals. (The defensive side) is part of my job,” Ronaldo said.
The arrival of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner limited opportunities for veteran striker Cavani, who impressed in his debut season at Old Trafford last year.
The arrival of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund last July had little impact. He didn’t contribute any assists or goals.
“I sleep well at night. I will go to bed with a very good conscience. Keep it up because I will always keep my mouth shut and win things,” he explained.
The Red Devils currently lead Group F, scoring six points in their first three games, while Atalanta are third with two points from United.
In the first game between the two teams, Atalanta had a two-goal lead at Old Trafford in the October 20 game. Mario Articleic contributed two goals and Merih Demiral scored the goals. But United managed to strike back in the second half thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo to get all three points with a final score of 3-2.
Atalanta are also facing the problem of injured players. Djimsiti B, Gosens R, Hateboer H and Pessina M are skeptical. While MU players who are dubious may appear to be defending the Red Devils, only Martial is out of shape. (Skysport / AFP / OL-4)
