Nine years of Suzuki Ertiga’s trip to Indonesia

Ertiga is the flagship vehicle of Suzuki Indonesia Low Poly Purpose Vehicle (LMPV), which was first launched in 2012. Since its launch, the Ertiga has become one of the family’s favorite cars with various advantages that it involves.

The first generation

Ertiga was first presented at the Indonesian International Motor Show (IIMS) in 2010 as prototype car under the name of R-III. Two years later, Suzuki officially released the Ertiga, which suddenly became a new and beautiful phenomenon. The first generation Ertiga gets twice the display refresh or facelift namely in 2013 and 2015.

In 2013, a choice of automatic transmission was presented along with integrated features Dual AC fan on GL and GX variants. Then in 2015 the new Ertiga underwent exterior changes such as bumpers, grille, rims and taillights with additional reflectors.

In the same year, Suzuki also launched the Suzuki Ertiga Dreza which has a luxurious appearance as an alternative choice to reach wider Indonesian families.

New Ertiga diesel hybrid

The Suzuki New Ertiga Diesel Hybrid was launched as an alternative in 2017. Using a diesel engine with a displacement of 1300 cc with DDiS technology (Diesel direct injection system) and is capable of producing up to 89 hp of power at 4000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1750 rpm.

By using a hybrid system or the so-called Suzuki Intelligent Hybrid Vehicle (SHVS) which is capable of making fuel consumption more efficient, while making Suzuki an automotive pioneer which applies hybrid technology in the segment of vehicles. LMPV in Indonesia.

Second generation

The all-new Suzuki Ertiga was presented at the IIMS 2018 event with total changes to the exterior and interior. The size of the cabin becomes more spacious and comfortable as it is built on Heartect Platform which has better structural strength but is lighter and is geared towards rider and passenger comfort.

The second generation Ertiga uses a new K15B coded engine which has a 4 cylinder configuration with a displacement of 1462 cc at DOHC and VVT which is capable of producing 104.7 hp at 6000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4 400 rpm.

All new Ertiga minor change 2019

The all-new minor change to Ertiga arrived on February 15, 2019 with a number of feature improvements. Type GX is equipped with new two-tone alloy rims, rear defogger, wiring harness for parking camera, main unit with touch screen 6.8 inches and automatic digital AC panel and radiators, while the GL type receives fog lights (foglamp).

All new Ertiga Suzuki Sport

The All New Ertiga Suzuki Sport was present on March 22, 2019 and positioned itself as the highest variant. The exterior is more manly, harsh and athletic blessing new grille design and body kits (front lower spoiler, side lower spoiler, rear lower spoiler, rear upper spoilerr) that sports daytime running lights (DRL), rear defogger, rear camera parking and new two-tone alloy rims.

The interior is presented with luxurious dashboard and dashboard with wooden pattern, as well as the addition of security functions such as Hill hold controlme, Anti-lock braking system (ABDOS), Electronic brake force distribution (EBD), Two SRS airbags and Electronic stability program (ESP).

All new Ertiga minor change 2020

The All New Ertiga underwent a touch-up on January 15, 2020. The type GX is equipped with luxurious dashboard and dashboard with wood pattern and main unit with touch screen 8 inch, while the GL type also gets automatic digital AC panel with radiators. The types GL, GX and Suzuki Sport are now also equipped armrest in the second row seats.

Thanks to his excellence, Ertiga has received several awards. Among them at the Marketeers Editor’s Choice Award 2018 in the ‘New Product’ category. The all-new Ertiga also won the ‘Best MPV’ award at the 2018 Indonesia International Motor Show.

Ertiga even received two awards at the 2019 Otomotif Prize as “Best of Low MPV” and “Car of the Year”. Meanwhile, at the Gridoto Award 2019, the all-new Ertiga won the “Best in Total Cost of Ownership”.

Since its launch in Indonesia, the population of Ertiga has reached 314,531 units and exports to 36 countries have reached 103,744 units. In 2021, the All New Ertiga managed to dominate the LMPV market share of 9% and contribute 12% of Suzuki Indonesia’s domestic sales.
