Dyandra Promosindo has decided to cancel the East Java regional auto show, Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) Surabaya 2021, which was originally held from November 3-7, 2021 at Grand City Convex. This step was taken after careful consideration.
The current pandemic situation is affecting the ability of Brand Holder Agent (APM) brand representatives and supporting industries, both in terms of readiness and funding capacity to participate in exhibitions.
“As an organizer of an auto show, we understand the wants and needs of the parties involved, from participating brands to visitors. If this show continues to operate with an incomplete number of participating brands, it appears that the auto show has lost its essence. ” explained the CEO of Dyandra Promosindo as well as the project director of IIMS Hendra Noor Saleh, Monday (25/10).
The ongoing pandemic period in Indonesia is also impacting the timing of the organization of adjacent auto shows nationwide. Dyandra also saw the continued momentum of PPKM as inevitable in determining the timing of this year’s show.
This move is an anticipatory step so that this annual event does not lose its essence as a regional automobile exhibition in East Java. Dyandra has prepared the IIMS Surabaya program to be held again in 2022, namely November 2-6, 2022 at Grand City Convex, as a commitment to expanding the automotive industry.
In fact, Dyandra received a letter of recommendation to organize IIMS Surabaya after going through a long process. In the process of obtaining a recommendation letter, a site assessment and review is required from the BNPB and the Covid-19 working group to ensure completeness and readiness in terms of facilities to the infrastructure and maximum implementation of the health protocol system.
As a result of not organizing IIMS Surabaya 2021, Dyandra has prepared IIMS exhibitions on a regional scale, namely IIMS Makassar from December 1 to 5, 2021 at the Celebes Convention Center and IIMS Outdoor for the Joglosemar region (Jogja, Solo, Semarang ) on December 29, 2021 – January 2, 2022 in Kampoeng Kopi Banaran.
Through these two events, it is hoped that this initiative will be part of the efforts of Dyandra and all brands to get involved in boosting sales and maintaining the existence of the automotive industry at the end of the year. . (S-4)
